Last Sunday, September 15, I was preaching at Reba Place Church. I was a congregational member there for twenty years, and on the pastoral staff from 2000 to 2008. I still live “on the edge” of that community and I’m always humbled and grateful to be invited back. (For more on my journey to Reba Place see the essay “Living Otherwise”).
The lectionary text last Sunday was that portion of Mark’s gospel where Jesus starts predicting his own death and Peter rebukes him for being so pessimistic (Mark 8:26-33).
Reba Place is home turf, so there’s naturally some “in house” Christian lingo. I normally want this blog to have an “out house” feel . . .
The message starts about the 5:00 mark.
